The collapsed church in Aroor, Alappuzha   The collapsed church in Aroor, Alappuzha Rescue operations by
police and fire force continued assisted by local people till Tuesday morning.
Injured were hospitalized. Two people are critical.The new building of St. Augustine parish collapsed as concrete works of the
roof progressed. Some 20 workers were inside when the accident happened. A migrant worker from Bihar Biswanath Prasad died on the spot. One person was
rescued only in the ealry moring of Tuesday. Some 12 injured were admitted to
specialty hospitals in Ernakulam. The roof came down with some pillars following a lightning, trapping several
workers inside the building. Parishioners who were attending a ceremony at
nearby old church were the first to arrive at the scene.
